Hello! I’m Arjun, the founder of Accessible AI, a nonprofit dedicated to improving AI literacy and making artificial intelligence education accessible to everyone. Today, I want to share the story behind our organization, our motivations, and our aspirations for the future.

The journey of Accessible AI began with a simple realization: AI is reshaping our world, but not everyone has equal access to this transformative technology. While contrasting my experience as a computer science student at Stanford with the experiences of my high school classmates who have ended up on different paths, I saw firsthand the disparity in AI education and understanding. Talented individuals from underrepresented communities lacked the resources and opportunities to explore AI, or to understand its impact on their careers. This gap is not just a loss for these individuals; it’s a loss for the field of AI and our society as a whole.

Our mission at Accessible AI is to help individuals better understand AI, and what it means for them. We believe that knowledge of AI should not be confined to a privileged few. By providing resources, training, and community support, we aim to empower people from diverse backgrounds to learn, innovate, and contribute to the field of AI.

Our initiatives

To date, we’ve launched several initiatives to bring our mission to life:
Online materials – We offer a range of materials, from tutorials to infographics, to help individuals better make sense of the multitude of AI terms being thrown around
Workshops – We run frequent workshops for people to learn more about AI
Community outreach – We collaborate with partner nonprofits to help them navigate various challenges posed by the advent of A

Our plans for 2024

As we look to the future, we have a few goals for 2024. We aim to reach more communities with our materials, and foster an even more diverse audience pool.
